Building the Next Generation of Family - Safe Livestock Guardian Dogs
At Guardians of Basilea, we are proud stewards within the Grand Korumak breed development project, working intentionally to build a new class of homestead guardian — dogs who are powerful, calm, thoughtful, and safe to live with families.
Our guardians are bred from carefully selected Caucasian Shepherd, Anatolian Shepherd, and Great Pyrenees lines, chosen for calm nerve, strong structure, environmental confidence, and true guardian instinct. Every dog in our program is genetically tested and hip-cleared before being bred, because we believe long-term health is just as important as temperament and working ability.
We raise our puppies differently.
Our puppies are born and raised around livestock, daily exposed to goats, poultry, and real farm life. They are gently handled, bonded with people and children, and started with structure and early obedience. We believe powerful guardian genetics are not weakened by love, bonding, and training — they are refined into safer, more reliable protectors with thoughtful judgment and steady minds.
As our dogs mature, they are gradually transitioned into full livestock guardianship, creating balanced guardians who protect their land, their animals, and their families with calm authority.
This is slow, intentional breeding.
This is a heart project.
